Last year, Cisco’s AI Readiness Report found that while 97% of companies recognize AI’s importance, only 14% had started implementing it. That number has skyrocketed in the last several months, of course—even within Cisco’s own workforce. Paul Wendell shares how Cisco is quickly closing the gap with BridgIT, their internal AI tool, which saw a 40% increase in weekly employee engagement—helping teams with content creation, brainstorming and workflow support. The company is now expanding the pilot, using insights to strategically invest in AI and upskilling programs. Wendell emphasizes that fostering psychological safety, continuous learning and AI literacy is key to ensuring employees engage with AI as a true collaborator, not a competitor.
