In today's workplace, being "nice" is often rewarded, even when it comes at the expense of honesty, accountability, and equity.

This course examines how niceness functions as a social construct/contract that prioritizes comfort over clarity and why that tradeoff is costly for individuals and organizations alike. Learners will unpack the hidden dynamics behind avoidance, silence, and performative harmony, and explore what it looks like to lead with courage instead.

By the end of this module, you'll learn how to:

  • Identify common workplace behaviors rooted in - niceness rather than clarity.
  • Evaluate when niceness is preserving comfort at the expense of progress.
  • Distinguish between being nice and being genuinely kind as a leader.
