Nancy Seideman is associate vice president for communications and executive director of media relations at Emory University. She manages a team that builds the awareness and reputation of the university among several key audiences. Seideman manages internal and external communications, media relations, issues management and crisis communications. For the past two decades, she has led the university's communications programs, most recently co-directing strategic communications and media relations related to the care of two Ebola patients. Before Emory, Seideman served as national media manager for the American Academy of Ophthalmology and as a public relations officer for Merritt Peralta Medical Center (Oakland, Calif.), and for the New England Deaconess Hospital in Boston. She is writing a book on the university’s nature preserve.
