Panel Advice: Where DE&I Should Sit in the Organization

Angel Henderson is the manager of internal communications at Cityblock Health. A strategic communications leader, wordsmith and project manager with experience engaging both internal and external audiences, she collaborates cross-functionally to identify key points and create clear, concise messages.  Before Cityblock Health, she was a supervisor and project lead in internal communications, as well as a senior internal and external communications specialist at Ochsner LSU Health. She's also worked in digital media for LifeShare Blood Centers, among other communications roles.

Paige Elliott is a manager of employer branding, engagement and DE&I in the Americas at Veeam Software. In this role, she positions Veeam as an employer of choice by telling the story of the unique work life culture, perks and attributes to attract and retain diverse top talent. Prior to Veeam, Paige’s experience includes leading the global employment brand at Northern Trust Corporation, a publicist for professional NFL & NBA Athletes, as well as other marketing and media production roles. Paige’s motto has always been that you can’t put her into a box! With a passion to help others discover their brand identity and authenticate their story to their audiences, Paige is a co-founder and personal branding consultant of her company Intermixx Brand Management. She holds a media and communications role at her church, is a huge advocate for non-profit work in foster care and her most important job is being a mother to her 2-year-old daughter, Kassidy. Regardless of what roles she is in, Paige walks in her purpose by empowering others to become the best version of themselves and encouraging them to reach their full potential.

Shannon Dawson joined Porter Novelli in November 2022, leading internal communications and employee engagement initiatives for various healthcare organizations. Much of her client work includes communications support for human resources, global talent management, learning and development and information technology sectors. Previously, she served as the head of internal communications and DE&I chair at Reliance Worldwide Corporation, where she developed and led the strategy and implementation of DEI programming, communications and establishing ERGs. Her communication experience also includes executive thought leadership and change communication, and she has worked with public and private companies in the manufacturing, consumer packaged goods, hospitality and telecommunications industries.
