Veronica Cintron joined the Hillsborough County Aviation Authority in April 2020. As Vice President of Communications at Tampa International Airport, she oversees all internal and external messaging for America’s Favorite Airport. Prior to joining Tampa International Airport’s award-winning Communications team, she anchored Spectrum Bay News 9’s weekday evening newscasts for 10 years. During her journalism career, Veronica covered major domestic and international stories including Pope Francis’ first ever visit to Cuba, the 100th anniversary of the Panama Canal, and the aftermath of Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico. Her work earned six Suncoast Chapter Emmy awards, Florida Association of Broadcast Journalists awards and Society of Professional Journalists’ Sunshine State awards. Veronica sits on the board of The Florida Aquarium, and is a member of the USF Advancing Latino Access and Success Task Force, the USF Zimmerman School of Advertising and Communications Advisory Council, and the Athena Society. She is married and lives with her husband and 7-year-old daughter in Tampa.
