Katherine Cheng is the vice president of People, Culture and DEI at the Seattle Mariners. A seasoned social impact expert and sustainability architect who has worked in diverse industries such as retail (coffee), tech, government and travel, she has proven results working in partnership with non-profits, governments and other corporations to impact issues around the world. Whether it's responding to the natural disasters hitting the Caribbean or putting together a partnership with UNESCO for a sustainable travel pledge, her goal has always been to ensure the company is making a difference in the communities while having an eye on delivering business value. Before the Mariners, she served as the global corporate citizenship and community relations for Expedia, where she oversaw corporate grants and giving, volunteerism and community engagement. She honed her skills in international business, strategic communications and reputation management at some of the world’s most iconic brands, including Microsoft and Starbucks, as well as with the U.S. government. She also serves on the board of trustees as vice president for the Wing Luke Museum of the Asian American Experience (The Wing), and she is co-chair of the Susan G. Komen Grace Notes Gala.
