Jolie Shifflet serves as senior director of business communications for Atrium Health, one of the largest non-profit and leading academic health systems in the United States. In her role, Jolie is responsible for internal communications to support the needs of the organization’s 70,000+ teammates. Before working at Atrium Health, Jolie worked for the U.S. Coast Guard at its headquarters in Washington, D.C., where she held various roles in community and media relations, handling communications following 9/11 and the transition to the Department of Homeland Security, as well as Hurricane Katrina. She also spent seven years as a stay-at-home mom while her son was young. A University of Maryland graduate who comes from a family of Maryland alumni, she encourages you to always Fear the Turtle, and would love to share with you her favorite recipe for true Maryland-style crab cakes.
