Dr. Sheila Dowd

Dr. Sheila Dowd is a licensed clinical psychologist and Vice Chair for Faculty Affairs in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Rush University Medical Center. She is a clinician researcher exploring novel interventions for depression, anxiety and PTSD. Her research with her colleagues led to FDA approval for Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) in the treatment of major depression. Dr. Dowd joined Rush in 2004 and is executive director for the Rush TMS clinic. Currently, she is focusing on the wellness of her colleagues as the Medical Director for the Center for Clinical Wellness at Rush University Medical Center.
