Power Conversation – Christina Lee Thorsen

Christina Thorsen has more than two decades of experience in communications across industries including technology, education, healthcare, and finance. Having lived in seven countries, she brings a dynamic global perspective and a deep understanding of diverse cultures to her work. She thrives on building authentic connections, fostering collaboration, and helping others reach their professional goals in a way that aligns with their personal values. As the Director of Internal Communications and Mission Marketing at Goodwill Central Texas, Christina is passionate about fostering a servant-leader culture and amplifying the organization’s mission of transforming lives through the power of education and work. Before joining Goodwill Central Texas, Christina helped small businesses and associations grow their online presence during the pandemic by creating web and e-commerce sites and organizing virtual conferences through her creative agency, Smart Cookies. She developed her love for the education field during her role as the Senior Communications Manager at Stamford American International School in Singapore. Her work at the FDI World Dental Federation in Geneva, Switzerland, gave her invaluable insights into public health advocacy on a global NGO scale. Christina holds a BA in Communications from the University of Houston and an MA in Pacific Asian Studies from the University of London’s School of Oriental and African Studies.  She is currently based in Austin, TX.
